I may mention the term “Christian Book Angel” on the site and in the comments section sometimes and I just realized that if you aren’t subscribed to the newsletter you probably have no idea what I’m talking about. So, what is a Christian Book Angel?
As most of you know, I took over the site a few short weeks ago and totally changed things up with a new site look. I also did some housekeeping on the email list and scrubbed it clean of everyone who doesn’t open their emails. (If you’ve missed out on the newsletter and couldn’t figure out why, you’ll need to sign up again here.)
Once I did that, I gave the new newsletter a sleek new look and a few new features. I threw around a few ideas I had with the wonderful people on the email list and they replied with their feedback. That’s how Christian Book Angels was formed.
The idea was this: In the newsletter I would make a bulletin board style call for volunteers to help a Christian author with something specific. This could be their first ten reviews, attending a launch party on social media, or maybe just shouting out their free book to their friends. I don’t post to this section every day and I’m pretty picky about the books I accept, but I hope to use this free service to help new Christian authors without a huge social media following to get started promoting their books.
If you’d like to volunteer as a Christian Book Angel, simply watch for assignments in the Christian Book Angel section of the newsletter and volunteer when you’d like. There’s no obligation to do every assignment and I never charge authors to list their books in this feature. Sometimes the author doesn’t even know I’ve asked people to help them. This is all really new but I’ve already received some very positive feedback from authors who were grateful for the help.
If you haven’t signed up for the new newsletter, you can do so here. And if you have a book that you’d like me to consider for the Christian Book Angels feature, drop me a line on the Contact page.
From all of us Christian writers, thank you for supporting Christian authors and their ministries.
