Christian Book News

God’s Not Dead: We The People

I guess this is only book news because a couple of the movies have books associated with them. I’m really excited because I just learned that the new God’s Not Dead movie is based on homeschooling! Super interesting to me because I homeschool. It’s called God’s Not Dead: We The People and it’s set to release October 4th, 2021.

Rev. Dave Hill defends a group of Christian homeschooling families after they receive an impromptu inspection from a progressive, local government official who doesn't like what she finds. He travels to Washington, D.C. to testify in a landmark congressional hearing that will determine the future of religious freedom in our country for years to come.

My daughter and I just purchased the first three movies on DVD and we’re re-watching the first one this afternoon. Even at a young age she took an interest in these movies and I think they’re helping her sort out questions about her faith.

You can view the trailer, photos, and cast at this link.

The Lady’s Mine

Francine Rivers is working on a new story about a mining town set in 1870s California. Rivers said on Facebook, “It might call to mind a bit of Redeeming Love, but my hero is no Michael Hosea. Let’s just say he could use some redemption in his life, and I might have just the woman to help him along.” The Lady’s Mine will be published by Tyndale and is set to release February 2022. You can read more about The Lady’s Mine and see the cover reveal here.

My Heart Remembers

My Heart Remembers, a Christian historical novel by Kim Vogel Sawyer, is on its way to becoming a movie! You can learn more about it at the official Facebook page created for it. https://www.facebook.com/myheartremembersmovie/

I’ve read this book and I think I even reviewed it years ago. It’s an orphan train historical novel. Very good! I remember reading both the books in the series but I liked the first one the best. It’s a sweet story about a woman searching for her missing siblings.

According to the website made for this movie, it’s a crowdfunding project that already has a director, producers, and a writer for the script. You can donate to the cause and receive perks based on the amount. I’m excited to see Christian movies made this way and I’ll be watching for updates.

Discussion Topic of the Week

I’ve been driving my newsletter subscribers batty this week talking about this so I might as well open it up for public discussion. What do you love and hate about buying books on Amazon and reading them in the Kindle app? Authors, feel free to voice your opinions as well.
